Shogenji Temple

This temple was constructed by Takemura Tango (Second Commissioner of Iwami Ginzan under the Tokugawa Shogunate). Not only is the temple home to the graves of serving magistrates, but it is also home to important historical material including the picture of Tokugawa Ieyasu and the 16 Generals. At the back of the mountain is the Toshogu, or shrine dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu.
