Gohyakurakan (Rakan-ji Temple) Stone Buddhist Statues
Over 500 stone statues are enshrined in three stone caves in the sloping bedrock. There is a Shakamuni statue in the central cave and 250 seated Buddhist arhats in the caves on either side. This stone work, complete with three stone bridges and a memorial tower, displays the sophistication of the stonemasonry at Iwami Ginzan.
